I just finally got my Panasonic Viera TC-P50GT30 last week. Everything seems fine so far. Picture looks great. Still getting use to RCN. It seems slower. I switched from Comcast because it was so expensive. Now I am just trying to figure out what else I can do with the plasma TV.

1. For anyone using the Viera Cast. Am I better off connecting via Ethernet cable or go wireless? It seems to take an awfully long time for the interface to respond/select screen options.

2. I have the Motorola DCX700 to view hi-def programming. I notice there is a UBS port. I assume I can use it to hook a hard drive to it to view photos and movies, correct?

If so, does it matter if it is Mac or PC formatted?

Also, I have all these kids DVDs that my daughter watches. Is there a way to load them onto the hard drive and if so how?

One other thing, is the hard drive vulnerable to the outside world even though it is plugged into the Motorola DCX and not the router? I do have a router that it is hooked up to the cable/phone box.
