I have FIOS tv service which broadcast SD and HD channels. My problem is when I switch between the channels I have to manually adjust my aspect ratio(Panny has 5 ratios) to fill the screen.

My question is there a remote that can work with the Panasonic that will only toggle between 2 aspect ratios(ie. 4:3 and just) instead of cycling thru all 5 each time.

I am currently looking at the Harmony 670 and the Universal Remote URC-300.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The only way to do that would be if the Panny has discrete commands to go directly to each of the modes. I have that same TV with an RTI system so I can check my command database but it still won't help you. You should give Harmony a call because if the discretes do exist they can program them for you. Then you would have two buttons for each of your 2 options.

However... the reason I don't know if those discretes exist is because I don't use them. My HD cable box has the aspect ratio options itself and I bet you the FIOS box does as well. You may find it better and easier to keep the Panny the same at all times and adject the aspect ration for the source... your FIOS receiver

Several people I know haved tried several code sets and have looked extensively for discrete codes for the aspect ratio for the 60 and 600U series plasmas with no results as of yet, best we have done was all inputs and power so far, right now its still just a toggle command as your doing now, no remote you buy will have them as so far they dont exist as of yet or if they do we havent found them yet

Just one and two but that's all I need for now. I have my DVD & Cable box HDMI to my Yammy receiver and my PS3 to HDMI 2 so I'm good. Once I get full remote control capability of the PS3 I'll ditch my DVD player and just have one HDMI cable to the TV. It would be AWESOME if RTI created a Bluetooth control output for the RP6 just to control the PS3
