Does anyone know what could happen (if anything) to a Panasonic TH-50PX75U 50" plasma panel that was viewed on the vivid setting for over 4 months?

If there is no obvious IR would it still be okay? Or might it be something that could show up later down the line?

Using Vivid won't hurt the TV. I used Vivid in 4:3 mode with black bars quite often on my older PX50U when i would watch Speed Channel on sunny weekend afternoons. The TV currently has over 7,000 hours on it and it still looks great and doesn't even have a hint of burn-in (i've checked).

Since "vivid" (or the equivalent) seems to be the default setting for most plasma makes/models, I doubt that it will cause anything worse than some pretty bad IR during the first month or so. I do think the vivid setting does raise the risk of permanent burn-in...however if it doesn't have any after 4 months then it most likely never will.
