Panasonic TH-DW10000

I was wondering when some company would start adding more lamps to make their projector brigher. Have a close look at the faceplate in the upper right. 4 bulbs...holy crap, it'll be expensive to run at $1200 every two years. Gotta wonder why no one has used automotive HID xenon lamps yet so we don't have to replace bulbs ;-)

We have Xenon gas bulbs in Ultra-high end models already. They have the same bulb life and cost ~$1000 each!
Why don't car headlights have a short bulb life? They're usually for the lifetime of the car AFAIK...
I love my Panasonic DW-7000. I'm perfectly happy waiting, blah, blah,blah...When will this baby be available?

Really? I'm on my third set of front lights on my 2001.

Are you using Xenon HID factory lamps (as opposed to the plugin "xenon look" bulbs)?

Regular halogen bulbs do burn out a lot quicker, but from what I understand, the Xenon HID factory ones do not...

Brandon: any idea how much this Panny projector will cost? Be sure to post a review when you guys get it and let us know how much the 4 bulbs cost ;-)
They haven't even announced list yet, but I would guess that to be in the ~$45K area.

As for reviewing it, they are going into an installation I am not involved in, and which does not lend itself in any way to meaningful HT tests, so I won't be able to do that. Sorry.
