Try using standard RCA cables for sound from the cable box, and see if the problem is still there.

Panasonic TH50PZ85U Sound Output Question
Right now I have the sound and picture from my cable box going through HDMI to the TV.
Picture rocks.
Sound is my only question. On some channels there seems to be a weird "digital fuzz" accompanying the voices and stuff. It's hard to describe, but it's almost like feedback of some sort. And like I said, only on some content. Video games are fine as are some other channels.
I've noticed it before, but now my wife hears it and she wants to make sure we get it taken care of if it's a hardware issue.
I'm guessing this has something to do with my output settings or maybe it's just a digital versus analog deal.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
