Hey everyone,

After about 1 year of ownership of I came down and turned on my 50" Plasma and was greeted by this:

I've contacted Panasonic about repairs..I should know more tomorrow. I did some searching here and it would appear what they are going to have to end up doing is replacing the glass panel itself?

I am also having trouble with HDMI 1 and HDMI 2...I plug the HDMI line from my PC into either and the TV will turn off and need a 120 reset in order to come back on...I'm not sure if that related however, HDMI 3 works completely fine though...

Just trying to get a grasp on whats going on...

If they are going to replace the PDP.. I imagine the tv will have do some traveling. I dont imagine they'd replace it in home...

It is quite possible the PDP will need replacement. It could also be one of the "C" driver boards. The tech will figure it out.

The HDMI is a known issue. #s 1 and 2 are for DVD type devices only. PC HDMI input is not guaranteed except on #3.

Search for old threads on "10 blink" problem if I remember right.

You can also add an external HDMI repeater to the line from the computer. That was the workaround for this issue. Again, search the old threads.

The service technician from Panasonic came for the TV today. He tested the driver boards and he determined that it was in fact the PDP that needed replaced.

I was unaware of the HDMI issue with PC connections. A friend of mine has the exact same TV as I do and his PC is connected throu HDMI1....

I'm pleased with the service..guy was real nice and polite..they even left me a "loaner" tv while my 50 was being repaired. Its a 42" I believe..

PC works throu HDMI1 on it...but perhaps its a different model..

Anyways.. Hopefully they'll have it back within a few weeks.

As always I appreciate the help of the board.

Well....

Now I have a new problem. Its exactly one month since my Panasonic was returned to me...and now:

It might be difficult to see but there is 1 column of pixels that is not quite right with the rest of the surrounding pixels. They seem to fluctuate too...

This one is much more clear: http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...y/IMG_9226.jpg

Do you guys think this is the panel again? I believe my one year warranty is up as of 8/26/09...However the panel should still be under warranty...

I havent called Panasonic yet as its 3am here...I'll call tomorrow sometime...

Man just cant win...

Thoughts?
