I just picked up a Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P42G10, can someone point me in the direction of some settings I should use?

Also are there break in settings for this set? is that something Is should be concerned about?

There is a break in routine that is available, certainly not mandatory. It's listed in the "Official Panasonic 12G Settings/Issues Thread"...if you don't want to do this, no problem. If you are happy with the picture, just enjoy your display. I usually tell people to use the full screen mode for the first couple of weeks, but again, it's not necessary or required.

You bought a great TV....just relax and enjoy it.
so nobody would have some optimal settings for watching blu ray, ps3 and 360 gaming?

Just go on the G10 owners thread and ask..

About ten different people have already posted their settings in the G10 thread so just search that thread and you'll find them. That's what i did and i found the ten posts, then i copy/pasted them into a word document for later review. Use this search string in the G10 thread:

+contrast+brightness+color+tint

But there is no such thing as "optimal settings" since everybody will have a different viewing environment, different sources, different content, different eyesight, and different personal preferences. I tried about a half dozen people's settings that i thought might look good but none of them looked nearly as good as the ones i came up with on my own.

Break-In Image settings (via SD card or DVD) are in the first post of the 12G Settings/Issues thread. If you're just going to break it in by watching TV then simply reduce the Contrast setting to around +50 and avoid black bars and logos and tickers for a few hundred hours. Break-in really isn't necessary on the Panasonics though.
