Hi guys,
I have a Philips 42PF9830 LCD Tv for more than a year.Last week I bought a Sony Blu Ray player ( S500) but my Lcd only display in 1080i. I went through the manuel and figured out that Lcd has a panel resolution of 1920x1080p and a maksimum display resolution of 1920x1080i . I just could not understand what that means.Surely, I can not get a 1080p output. When I switched 1080p output on my player , my tv goes blank.
So, any of you guys know what is the diefference between those 2 . If the tv can not display 1080p , why is there such A term as panel resolution, what's the use? and finally do you think I need to buy a full 1080P HD to enjoy blu ray movies.Does it make such difference btw 1080i and 1080p.
Sorry for many questions, thanks in advance.
