I just got the Panny 42-PHD and I'm seeing what I

think is annoying/faulty behaviour.

I'm watching Standard C-band satellite through

the composite port from my satellite receiver.

It's a beautiful picture on PBS. I'm watching in "just mode"

but the screen flicks back and forth between just mode

"no black bars" and having black bars appear in 16x9

mode. It's intermittant but often enough to be annoying.

I have also seen it jump between "just mode" and "zoom

mode".

I guess I'm wondering - is this a source problem or

do I have a defective brand new Panny.

That's normal. You should set it to "just mode". I would recommend using a better connection than composite, if possible.

It'll do this if its in "Panasonic Auto" mode. It'll try to chose between Just and Zoom depending on black bars it sees. If its actually in Just mode it shouldn't do that.
