Thanks for all the great info. After lurking for a couple of months, I finally picked up a PT-42PHD4-P. I've been trying to calibrate the color and contrast using the Avia Guide to Home Theater DVD and I can't seem to get it right. I'm using a Sony 655 DVD with the progressive scan mode turned on.

I read somewhere that the Picture mode on the Avia disc won't work with a plasma because of the lack of "blooming" on a non-crt monitor.

Has anyone been able to calibrate their 42 HD Panny? If so, what numbers did you use?

Thanks

Start with about -18 on contrast, (or a little higher if the white is still too grey) and then use Avia for the remainder of the cailbration. Do a search on my name and Avia, and you should get the full results of my experiences with Avia.
