Panny DVD Recorder conflicts with Panny DVD Changer

378 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Maurice2
I've had a Panasonic DVD Recorder (DMR-E30) for a few years now and just got a Panny DVD Changer (DVD- F87). They sit one on top of the other in my A/V rack and there is no other place for either of them.

Unfortunately when I press the remote for basic actions on one of them, they both respond.

Is there a way I can solve this problem? short of getting a DVD Changer of another brand? I'd hate to have to return the F87.

Many thanks.

Yes, go into recorder setup and select remote 1, 2, or 3.. Read the manual if you have trouble finding this. You may also have that option on the changer - so it doesn't matter which you change as long as they get separate remote numbers. You will still see the other unit flash a brief recognition on its front display when you execute a command on the other unit, but then it will immediately go off.
I had to do the same thing (change the remote code on the Panasonic EH50 to "2") when I purchased the Panasonic S29 stand-alone DVD player.
Thank you very much guys. I changed the code on my DVD Recorder and its remote from 1 to 2 and everything seems to work fine. The next thing I need to do is change the code on my Harmony remote (659) for this unit. Anyone knows how to do this by any chance?
