hi all,

what do you prefer as output from your panny s77, hdmi or component?

i started out with hdmi, and have been using component (at 480p/rgb) for a long time. last night i switched back to hdmi (at 720p/rgb) and was shocked. it seems to look much better now. i can split the screen (on my 50" plasma) and the component seems to glow and bleed, where as the hdmi seems more film-like.

i should also say that i had an isf calibration a few weeks ago, where he calibrated the dvd via component and hdmi for hd, so they are both pretty freaking close to d6500.

on another note, how about color... rgb, or the ycrcb (4 or 2)? to me, the rgb seems the best, with the least amount of red glow or posterization.

thanks for your thoughts,

nate

ps: i havent tweaked any of the BW or sharpness settings on the s77

sorry for the dup post... i did some more re-reading of the panny s77 thread below and found a few refs to this subject, although quite burried.

i was only comparing high quality dvds, and to me hdmi was far superior to component, but thats just my opinion and i'm sure it has a lot to do with the display.

feel free to share yours :)
