Ordered the PTHD42 and wanted to verify that it has rca type component inputs for a hughs e86 I already have. Also wanted to know if I can get a component to RGB cable to use component outputs on my existing dvd player to the RGB inputs on the panny . Can svideo input on the panny be used for progressive dvd input in worst case ? Seems like a nice unit but kind of limited for inputs.

thanks

Limited inputs seems to be the biggest gripe. If your HT Receiver doesn't have component switching, you can get an affordable switching unit from Radio Shack or the like.

No S-Video does not handle progressive scan (unless I'm hallucenating).

Yes the PT42PHD4 does have RCA type inputs.

Ok, so I answered in reverse.... sue me.

Thanks for the response Moebius. The next question is does this set have

RGB (BNC type inputs) where I would be able to get a component to RGB

conversion cable from bettercables.com or some where. I would really like to avoid a component switch box.

Also, would you know how much of a difference it makes running the dvd player in progressive mode. Shouldn’t the panny do a descent job of line doubling on its own ?
