I have a Panny CT-32HX41 TV (still have lousy geometry). The internal line doubler makes some content seem soft, like when watching golf, when someone is putting, the ball seems distorted.

The Panny STB TU-HDS20 will output all input at 480P or 1080I. Would this be an improvement? The input is from Comcast cable which is excellent in this area (was AT&T Broadband).

Just curious.

I can only comment on the TU-HDS20. It outputs all formats (480i,480p,720p&1080i) natively and is generally considered one of the best pictures from the current crop of stb's.

I am not familiar with your TV's processing capability but 480p is certainly better than 480i. I guess it is a matter of which doubler is better for analog 480i, the tv or the stb. I would bank on the stb and it's component connections.

It has been suggested that Crutchfield has an excellent return policy so why don't you buy one and check it out?

Your own eyes will be the best judge.
