Panny XR70 receiver Possible Heat Problem

354 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  DonoMan
I will be purcahsing the XR70 in the coming days along with the Panny DVDS97. I lack room for all my components in my Rec room (Motorola 6412 Box etc.) Would it be ok if I put my Panny DVD player on top of the XR70 receiver? I have read this may cause heat problems with the receiver.

If the DVD player has feet, this should be ok.
Keep a space of at least 3" for each side and the rear is clear for adequate air flow for the stack... Then everything should be fine as long as your loudspeakers are >6 Ohms and efficient..
So 3 inches clearance and 60 ohms? is it60 ohms or 6 ohms I have 8 ohm sspeakers.

I am sure he meant 6 ohms or greater. 8 ohms is fine.
Should I also purchase the rubber extend feet that go on the bottom of the DVD player to give more airflow. Does anyone know where to purchase these feet?

Why not put the 70 on top of the dvd player?
That may be an option but should I go with the feet extendors?

I am pretty sure you won't need them... I have a Technics (which is Panasonic) receiver from a few years back, 100x5, got my CD player right on top of it, about 2mm between the 2... thing barely gets warm... But I say give it a try and if it makes too much heat, then move stuff or get bigger feet... But I don't think it will be a problem.
