I have a Panasonic PT-53WX52F rear projection TV that has worked well for past 5 years. Recently it would turn off after anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes. You then have to unplug it from outlet before you can turn it back on. It may turn off again - or maybe not. No pattern on how long it stays on. Picture looks fine. Interestingly enough - it only turns off when watching TV. Will stay on indefinitely if we're playing a DVD. No extension cord in use. Any clues???

I have not noticed the light sequence right before it turns off, but I did notice that the red light next to the power button on the face of the TV will blink once every second AFTER the TV turns off. If you try and turn the TV back on when the light is blinking it will not turn on. You must unplug the TV from the wall and then the blinking light stops. When the light no longer blinks you can then turn the TV back on. Does this help figure out what the problem is??? I'm losing weight from getting up and down every few minutes to turn the TV back on
