I know the unit says it is only compatible with DVD-RAM discs, but has anyone had any luck with DVD-R discs?

Others say they've had no problem with regular DVD-R's.


I used some old pioneer mastering discs burnt with a mastering drive, specs are suppose to be slightly different. I get a frozen frame evey 8 seconds, the freeze lasts for about a second then corrects itself.


The Tosh 4700 handled these discs correctly, so I'm not sure what was wrong.

I have the RP91 and it has played all 45 of my DVD-R's perfectly. I love the RP91, as it lets me take my dvd-ram and burn them back to my e20 on dvd-r.

The RP91 also played a DVD+RW that I had recorded on my PC.

I use the DVD-R's from www.meritline.com. The part # is ML-DVDR47G-025 and they are 1.79 a piece. I buy them in the 25 pack. These work great in both the E20 and RP91, 45 burns and not one problem.
