Hi Guys,

So I'm finishing my basement and I plan on putting in a 7.1.4. My question is about my surrounds. I know my front 3 is where the money needs to go. I currently have a low end Paradigm 5.1 system upstairs that I'm pretty happy with.

What I'm thinking is putting in 2 floor-standing speakers and a center. Then for the outsides and in ceiling I'm wondering if I can go with a cheaper set of in-walls like the Paradigm PV150's which are $100 a piece.

Then for the ceilings I'm gonna go the PV50'rs which are also $100 a piece.

will these meld well with the Monitor 11 floor-standing I'm getting. Is it a bad idea to go with cheaper paradigms for the surround and ceiling?

Thanks,
Joe

While you can certainly do it, I usually try to match speakers whenever possible. The Pro series is a better match for the monitors but much more expensive, maybe the Home series would be a good compromise if budget allows.
