I have had this subwoofer for several years and have never had a problem untill now. The subwoofer will power up on its own and there is a persistant hum. I have tried moving it to its own dedicated outlet and I am still having the same problem. It will do this even with no RCA cables hooked up.

Sounds like a ground loop issue to me. Have you tried a 3 into 2 adaptor to float the ground? You should be able to pick on up at Home Depot for about a buck...good luck.

it is a three prong outlet.

What he means is use a 3 to 2 converter to convert the plug on the subwoofer power cord from a three prong plug to a two prong plug so that you only use two out of three of the prongs on the outlet in order to remove the ground.
