I just received my Paragon Theater 4 popper and really like it. I do have one issue however. I'm having trouble getting the kettle to release so I can dump the popped corn. It's almost impossible to release the kettle unless I bend the metal release lever that holds the kettle in place. Has anyone with Paragon poppers experienced this issue? I'm just wondering if this is normal or perhaps I have a defective part.

Hello,

Are you rotating the handle? The kettle release handle must be rotated to actuate a "cam". The cam must rotate to the "high spot" to release the kettle. I have sent a PM with a hyper- link to adjusting the kettle release if yours is not adjusted correctly.

Hope this helps.

I like my Paragon popper. Have had it for about 5 years.

The only issue I have with the Paragon design, is, it is a side hinged kettle. The problem I have is, with a side hinge, the kettle has to swing deeply into the cabinet, and you have to move much of the already popped corn out of the way in order to dunp the kettle!

I also have a Gold Medal popper, and, they have a centerline pivot for the kettle which is less intrusive in the cabinet area.

So, think about it, a side hinge kettle swings from the furthest edge and a center line swings from the middle. However, the Gold Medal kettle, with it's attached lid design is much harder to clean.
