I have no DirectTV at my house, my plan was to move the unit to my friends house and watch the Direct Ticket Football games this sunday.

Can I hook up to Direct TV and watch live football without the channel guide ? Do I need to plug in his telephone line ? Enter the 3 digit

channel number from memory ?

Yes. Hook everything up, then use choose cycle to the input that you have the DirecTV hooked to. Use the DirecTV remote to tune the various channels (being aware that there will be a short delay between pushing buttons and seeing the result on the screen).

Another suggestion might be if you have an open extra input on your ReplayTV box, go into Setup and set it up as a DirecTV input, let it dial in and get the program information, and then delete all the DirecTV channels except for the Direct Ticket Football channels. Then, when you take it to your buddy's house, setup will be a snap. That way, you can record, channel surf, etc. while you are there.


Also, you won't have to fumble with the DSS remote because ReplayTV will already know about the channels.
