Partial zoom and how do I get rid of it?

412 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  TheSkeptiks
I am not sure what is causing this my Pioneer 4310 or my Bell expressvu 6000 hdtv stb and I am looking for help. It seems whenever I am using input 1 on the TV and receiving an hdtv channel it stretches the picture to fit 16/9. It seemed to do that after I mistakenly pressed some of the keys on the 6000 remote, but I am not sure if I noticed it right away....does anyone have any thoughts on what could cause this, it seems like the HDTV picture is not quite as clear...and the station logos are mostly off screen... I'd like to get back to true hd if I can.

The partial zoom label comes up when I switch channels in the 6000 as information on what show, etc. is playing.

I have double checked both the TV its set for 720p, and the stb is also 720 p as well. All comments will be appreciated, thanks, Gordon.

On SONY sets there is a "wide" button that cycles through normal/wide/zoom/wide zoom. Does the Pioneer have such a setting?
that does not appear to do anything on the HDTV channels. I tried pressing it and nothing happened.
Sounds like a problem with the STB. I don't think the Pioneer plasma comes with an "Auto Aspect" mode which might do it. If yours does, turn that off, but I'm pretty sure that's not an option.

Try to get into your STB menu. You sometimes have to turn the STB off then press menu to bring up the STB's Internal menu.
