Is there any way to copy or move one partition to another using WiRNS and a shell script?

Sorry about the delay, work and all...

Trying to down grade the software on the other partition...

Don't know what I did but I really messed up the drive. I had no choice but to re-image the drive(build 190)

But just an answer about coping or moving a partition with WiRNS and a script. Is it possible?

I don't think you're asking what you want to ask.

You don't want to move partition 2 to partition 1 as this would move your mpeg parition to the space for the system partition.

What I suspect you want to ask is can you swap from sys1 directory to sys2 directory. Not sure why you'd want to copy the data, but in theory you could do it, just not sure you'd want to. You may want to look at the talk j.m. did in the 5500 no CA thread as it tells you how to get the replay to swap from sys folder X to sys folder Y. You need to remove a file called bootstate or something like that.

Ah, now me's see's...

Partition 1 is for the pic's... Now I understand

(***Sees' the light***)

Only had this unit for a couple of days.

Now about the sys1 and sys2 directory. What's on it? Just the OS other stuff?

I know how to boot up on the other system directory. I'm just wondering if you can copy over one directory with the other and what side effects this would have in doing so. Meaning, downgrading the software with the other new software?

three partitions as I understand it. These partitions are mounted as devices which can be accessed via the /devices/blah/blah/blah (I can't remember the exact path, but it's close to this.

and from what I remember it's

part0 sys

part1 mpeg

part2 photo

Most hex editors I've used (or should I say all) have had an ASCII panel next to the hex window. The one I've used for my RTV explorations is called WinHex.
