Whenever I wire a house I terminate the entire trunk (coax, cat5, 14-4, crestnet, etc.) onto a relay rack. Then I create an umbilical cord from the equipment rack to the relay rack. Having the relay rack keeps everything neat and allows for convenient test points. I use BNC keystones for the coax and RJ45 keystones for the cat5.
Where I struggle is with the speaker wire and the crestnet. Currently I use Neutrik XLR and/or Speakon connectors for those types of wire. The problem is those connectors are EXPENSIVE.
I've been trying to find a 1U or 2U blade with phoenix connectors on it but so far no luck.
Does anyone else terminate their trunks onto a rack? What do you use to terminate wire other than coax or cat5?
