PB12-NSD vs. UFW-12. . . same price

So I have a chance to get a Piano Black UFW-12 shipped for the same price as a SVS PB12-NSD shipped. Now I currently own a UFW-10 and it's a great sub, but for my rather large room just simple not enough.

I have read a lot about both subs, but they don't seem to come into discussions together much since usually the UFW-12 costs almost twice the PB12. Obviously the WAF factor is in the UFW's favor (yumm piano black....). Both subs "seem" to have the same response curves, or pretty close, the SVS I think goes a Hz or two lower. I've never owned a ported sub, but I also have issues with people saying a sub is more "musical" (either it can recreate the bass or it can't. . . recording don't specify if its coming from an instrument or not) which are the comments the UFW12 seems to illicit a lot.

If anyone has owned both and has good comparissons I'd love to hear them,I also realize that the two subs scored 1 pt. difference in the Craigsub list, although the UFW had a 'provisional' score. Thanks all.

EDIT: I would say my listening habits are about 70% HT, 25% music, and 5% off

If you and your wife can live with the finish, the Ed A5-350 will probably just kill either of the subs you mentioned. $600 shipped for the Ed.

Yeah, I just looked at that sub after reading a few more posts. It seems a tad larger and yes, the finish pretty much kills it for me. If it was offered in a matte or gloss black I would try it perhaps - but the crinkle finish is about the ugliest speaker finish I can think of.

I just got my A5-350 today and was a little skepticle of the finish myself. It is actually not that bad. Once I put it in the corner it really just looks like any other black subwoofer.

Yeah my issue is that unlike a lot of people my subwoofer sits right next to my fronts and directly in line of sight. So I can't really tuck it away and have it not be very noticeable. I'm not going to buy right this minute so I think I'll wait around for some reviews/pics of the ED sub and see what the consensus is.

I definitely am not going with the UFW-12 though, as it seems to be not the best choice for a mostly HT system.
