I'm set on going with an SVS sub from the awesome things I've read and the 45 day return policy. Now the question is which one to go with? SVS just dropped the price on the NSD so VERY tempted to jump on it for $600 and I figure worst case I can return it but should I save myself the hassle and just go with the PB2000 right off the bat? Is there that much of a difference with the PB2000, is it worth an additional $200?

The short answer is that the PB12 is a great sub that sold for $769 up until like 6 weeks ago.  Now it is a great value for a $600 sub, and the PB2000 is a great $800 sub.  Purchase the one that will fit your needs and match your budget.  For me, the price difference was trivial, and it is a sub I will likely be keeping for many years.

PB Ultra, PC Ultra, SB Ultra is only a few hundred dollar more too ;-) You might as well, you could be trampled by a herd of wild elephants tomorrow.

The PB2000 is a terrible sub, you better get Ultra's. Perhaps eight of them. Four for LFE, and two for left, two for right.

Regardless of what subs I have or had, the PC-NSD (upgrade from isd driver) is the one sub that’s always stayed on tap.

I was looking at both subs as well. Pulled the trigger on the PB12-NSD. The great thing about SVS is that you have 45 days to try free of charge. Also, if you feel you don't have enough with the PB12-NSD and need to upgrade, you have 1 year to decide. Can't go wrong either way. I agree with fatbottom, there will always be better subs, just get the one within your budget. I have doubled my budget since looking at subs.

If budget is no concern then get the PB-2000...2.5db more output above 25hz and tuned slightly lower. Also it looks like the PB-2000 is using a 24db per octave filter instead of the 48db per octave that the PB-12 and PB-1000 use, so the PB-2000 could extend quite a bit lower depending on room gain.

Ah, had not noticed this difference.  Will be interesting to see what kind of extension I am getting in room, but, subjectively, the PB2000 does seem to dig deeper than the PB12 in the comparison I was able to do.
