OK guys, this is my first post here...I found this forum 15 minutes ago and wish I new it existed back when I first started getting into HDTVs. From what I've read I made a good choice in purchasing my "Panny".:D

Anyway, I just purchased a new video card, Sapphire ATI X800 XT PE, and I would like to use it to play video games om my pt47wx53. Please tell me what I need to do to make this work!TIA

Dude, the Panny is a great TV, just not for PC gaming. The rez's I've been able to get to work are either too low, or way too high to game with because it's only a 480i, 480p, and 1080i TV. If you figure out a way to get a decent rez, let me know. I've all but given up.

BUGGER! well, soooo......how about console gaming, Halo 2 should be out soon! Can my TV handle that?

Also what about using the tv for watching dvds with my PC? Computer DVD roms read dvd's much better than regular entertainment center dvd players. So it would be nice to use the dvd player on my PC to watch the movies on my TV. Is this possible? or even make sense?TIA

I got the same TV in the 47in version, panasonic pt-47wxc43g , got it from walmart.

I game at [email protected] hz all night long !! Doom 3, UT2004, NASCAR2003,DTRSC,DTR2, F-1 CHALLANGE, all run great on my ATI 9800pro

using cat 4.8 drivers, some games show the custom resolutions in the video options, some you need to change the config file a little{very easy} the trick i found is to add the 60hz refresh rate to the 1776x1000 res to play games,

i used rage3Dtweak to do that , or use powerstrip to add HDTV resolution

to windows with your regular monitor , then reboot to HDTV only and your set !

Hey Dice, do you have a Powerstrip config you can post for that Rez? And isn't 1776x980 a bit high to get good frame rates? That's my main concern. It would be nice ot play on the TV, but if I'm getting less than playable frame rates I'll pass. Any help you can provide would be great as I've all but given up on PC gaming on the Panny. Thanks in advance!

I have to center the desktop a little in the service mode of set using that 1776x980 resolution, but heres my timings

1776,34,160,40,224,980,30,54,10,81,74.250

even with the 1776x1000 res all my games play great, good frame rates, if you have the dongle, you can use ATIs driver to make custom resolutions.

my sons 9600xt by ati also plays great using 1776x1000 resolution, once you figure it out ,you will be very happy gamer, lol
