Very interesting.

No, I have never built one, and have no plans to.

I do have a 1966 Seeburg jukebox in my kitchen, though!

I can see where this would be something that we AVS members would like to have/build.

One question -- what is with the cheezy speakers on the front? They look absolutely terrible, and I can't believe that they sound good at all! If I were building something like this, I would make sure that the fidelity was very good.

Cool. I didn't build one either. Instead I bought a couple used Audreys and added the hacks to use them as MP3 players, web browsers, digital picture frames, caller ID, etc. They can also be set up to control home automation via MrHouse so for about $100 you have a very large touchscreen remote. Pretty darn cool.

While it does have 2 built in speakers that aren't terrible, I just run a phono-rca cable into my receiver and it sounds great. So far I have 2 and would like to get 1 more eventually so I have one in the living room, theater, and bedroom. You can most always find these on e-bay.
