Ok this is really confusing me. I understand how basic RPTV resolutions work, but i am not sure i understand how they work if the RPTV is used for PC output. I think 480p resolution is used for 640x480? Alright, so what about 720p? I think that games that have the custom res feature can run 960x720, but what about those that don't? Would i be stuck running them at 640x480, or could i somehow run 800x600 - after all, 600 is below 720. Also, isn't the Xbox capable of outputting resolutions above 960x720? How exactly does it do that, and is there any way to use it's technology to do the same on a PC - after all, Xbox is a PC itself, even though Microsoft doesn't want to admit it.
