PC to HDTV - Do I have what I need?

I have a Raedon 9600XT with a DVI output and a Samsung HDTV with component and SVideo connections.

1) I have my Component/DVI adapter.

2) And I'm not sure what type of DVI I need. I am looking for the cheapest I can get by with.

It may be cheaper to attach the adapter directly to the DVI port on the video card and run a component video cable to the display instead.
I thought about that but forgot to mention it. Thanks for the info!
I hope you know that ATI's DVI->Component adaptor won't let you view DVDs at greater than 480p...

What model of Samsung TV do you have?

That's only for Macrovision protected titles, and there are ways around that limitation.

I know I'm gonna sound like a n00b.... But aren't all DVDs in 480p anyways...? Or are you saying you can't maximize the image to fill the whole TV w/ DVI?
