I'm wondering the same thing. Does anyone have any experience or know anything about this?

It's irritating to play pc games stretched out when they only support widescreen by way of a different resolution rather than a widescreen mode for a 4:3 resolution. 1280x720 even has a strong pink hue. I want to give the HDMI port a try but my manual states "do not connect a pc using the HDMI port. The HDMI port is not designed to support input from a pc. Only tv's with a VGA port are suitable for connection to a pc." Now I've seen people posting about using HDMI for a pc connection so I know that last part is bunk. My main question is could attempting such a thing in some way damage the tv? Or is it simply not likely to work? Those things are pricey so I want to be fairly certain. If anyone has any thoughts on the probtem with the VGA resolutions, they would be welcome as well. Thanks all. |
