One of the things I was anxious in trying before I bought my RPTV was hooking up my laptop to it and playing some first-person shooter games. But, plastard all over the manual, it specificly says NOT to hook up a PC to this television. Why is this? I would assume the only reason is burn-in, in which case an hour or so wouldn't hurt.

Are there any other reasons why this is bad, that would make me not want to hook it up at all?

I have an older 40" Toshiba and my manual says the same thing, but I have an HTPC hooked up that I play games on all the time. I think the warning is there in case you have the incorrect signal you can damage the set.

Visit the HTPC forums and search for PowerStrip. Its a program that will allow you to alter your video resolution to match the TV. It works great for setting up games to play in Widescreen.
