Phase Whats That?

Get a load of this.

I was into a local Paradigm Dealer in a business park to listen to a pair of Paradigm Mon 7s. I sat in the chair and the salesman played some music. I couldn't listen for my than 10 sec. I said the the salesman, the speakers are out of phase, he looked at me, I waited hoping he would investigate the problem. He stood there, I got up and looked at the connection at the speakers, one was backwards, so I said, the left speaker is out of phase, he still stood there. So I ask he if he knew what out of phase means? He paused, and said no. I fixed the problem and listened to the speakers and left.

I couldn't belive that the salesman didn't know about phase or how to connected speakers properly, what the hell is he doing selling audio products, this is as basic as it gets. They can't be selling many mon 7's being wire out of phase.

I had to get that out of my system.

The phase lesson comes after the pace, rhythm and microdynamics lessons.

First things first.

That's one crazy angle, but it very well could be a strategy to sell the next models up in the line.
