I am in the Phila. area and need to get channel 6 ABC along with the other UHF channels. I know 6 is a low VHF but I do not want to get a 20' antenna just to pickup that additional channel. Is there a chance  a high VHF/UHF antenna will still get 6 ? Or any other way around it. I am about 40 miles from the towers.

At that distance, you'll probably do fine with a High VHF/UHF antenna

FWIW, I added this antenna to my 4228 in the attic (no couplers/joiners). Works great for channels 6 and 12 at ~20 miles from the x-mitters in Roxborough. YMMV
