For what its worth, other speakers designed by Dennis Murphy seem to have rather conservative sensitivity ratings. For example, the SongTower is said to have 88 dB/2.83 volt sensitivity. Yet when it was directly compared with other speakers (same room, same electronic gear, same volume knob setting), of greater advertised sensitivity (91 dB), the SongTower was found to be louder.

That could also mean that other speaker's rating is suspect.

From my listening/comparing, the SongTower rating is correct when comparing to Ascend Sierra-1 NrT's and a prototype pair Ascend Towers.

The Philharmonics are an outstanding value. I consider them the "poorman's" SoundScape.

How would compare them to the SongTowers? What about the Philharmonic-1's to the SongTowers?

Works fine for me. Even on my phone

Looks like a DNS issue. I can get it on my phone, but not the work computer.

LOL!

Anyways, something as changed as now 65.181.151.137 is unreachable.

For those of you that are able to reach the site via your PC's...what IP address does philharmonicsound.com resolve to?

Sometimes for me it doesn't load when I use WiFi at home, but when I switch to 3G it loads easily.

That's because the two networks are using different DNS servers.

Ha...I doubt that.

OK--think I've got it straightened out. The site somehow got assigned to two different accounts. That's taken care of, but it will be a day or so before it takes hold worldwide. Thanks for the heads up.

Ahh....good.

The mesh of the front 3 is really impressive. At no point in the entire movie could I pinpoint a speaker or transition point of music/dialogue/ambiance changes.

Twylight, from reading the R-972 threads...I think you are using an Sherwood R-972 with Trinnov, correct?

Not to take anything away from the Phils, but Trinnov in itself, is impressive! I have been messing around with it all weekend.

Anyhow, I'm about to be hit by a major hurricane--I'm more concerned about getting bonkd by a tree than a tiny bump at 2.9 kHz 40 degrees off axis. Priorities priorities.
Stay safe and good luck!
