I'll replace my 963SA with another DVD player in my HT and use the Philips with a Sony Grand Wega with just the RGB scart inputs, no component


My 963SA is also European so it also has the Scart outputs but I've heard that they are not RGB (?) and so it will not give "component" like results. If that's true what kind of connection should I use for the best results? Stick to S-Video or (if it works) run component to TV and use some kind of a converter for RGB Scart?

Actually, the primary SCART output of the 963SA outputs only RGB. You can't switch it to S-video.

So you say Scart to Scart connection will work, but will it be as good as Component? Can I get better video quality I use 963's component outputs and convert them to RGB with one these? http://www.scancom.ltd.uk/products/cypress/cm-333.htm

I do not think you get progressive scan on scart even though it outputs RGB. Progressive scan is the whole point of this player and component is the only output that has it.
