Hi,

has anyone heard any further information regarding this first single-panel LCOS display unit?

What's not to like http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ?

(Disclaimer: I haven't actually seen one yet, and I hear that's a pretty important criteria as well. However, I do know that they are targetting HT applications with this, so it should be one to watch)

I saw a Phillips RPTV at SID using the LCoS chip.

It was running 720P promo from ABC. It is a native 720P box.

The picture was quite good. Very smooth, with very good colors. I thought the ability to produce subtle but strong pastels was excellent, really a revelation.

Best RPTV I have ever seen.

I am also waiting to see the new RCA LCoS L50000 RPTV.

i'm not quite tracking. i thought lcos was the reflective lcd technology that jvc did for the dila. if so, are they licensing to others or what? are others building the chips using jvc patents or is jvc now oem'ing the panels like ti does?
