Question for your Phillips owners- Will a progressive 480 line DVD player work on the TV's "AV3" component inputs? My friend had been using the AV4 HD input for his progressive DVD player, but I gave him a HD box which now sits on AV4. His DVD player is now on AV3. Is that input only for interlaced component signals, or can it take 480P?

i used to have a philips. from what i remember, yes, you can use av3 for 480p progressive scan. it does have the component inputs right?

It does take analog component, but he could not get it to take progressive, only interlaced 480 line. I guess that means it can do interlaced on av3

Now that I think about it, my AV3 was the input on the side of the tv. it didn't have component inputs, just the regular white, red, yellow rca inputs, plus a s-video. SO i am wrong thinking the av3 would show in 480p.

I have a 34PW9846, it is like the 9815 and my AV3 does not accept 480p, only 480i.
