A friend of mine has the chance to buy a Phillips plasma at a good price through a discount program. It appears this model:

http://www.plasmaconcepts.com/store/...oduct_id=PD186

has panny glass? It appears that way with the 3000:1 contrast ratio. He can also get the:

42PF9956 at a decent price, although I'm not so sure what the actual resolution of the 1024x1024 ends up like.... more ED than HD?

Thanks,

Chris

Most likely Samsung.

Correct, with regards to the 9976 glass.

The 1024 x 1024 spec is Fujitsu glass (aka AliS display technology).

Though not really "HD" in spec, AliS seems to offer brighter sharper detail than ED (480p) display technology.

Some places today offer & sell the 1024 x 1024 as an HD spec.

Is it Panasonic glass or is it Samsung glass?

I'm surprised it isn't LG.Philips glass...

Since I'm expecting the arrival of my 42PF9976/37 tomorrow, I'd like to know where the glass is sourced from too !
