I recently upgraded to the highest plan Comcast offers so that I would get all of the HD movie stations. I've noticed though that during movies when there is alot of flashing light and fast motion the image gets super pixelated and blurry looking... like its going from hi def to super super low resolution. It reminds me of years ago when I would download poorly encoded divx movies online which would give the same effect during fast motion.

It happend ALOT during Bad Boys II last night, espically during gunfights and car chase scenes. What exactly is causing this? I'm almost to the point of canceling my HD subscription and just going back to watching DVD's.

This is caused by over compression of the signal. Cable shouldn't have a need to do that. It may be the channel that is doing it. What channel was it? Does it happen on all HD channels?

Umm, it was either Cinemax or HBO I dont remember... I'm pretty sure it was Cinemax though.

I havnt really noticed it on the other channels because I havnt seen too many movies with lots of action and flashing lights in them. But I have noticed it in a few other movies in the past on those two movie channels.

I just noticed it ALOT last night during Bad Boys II because there is so much movement and lights and debris shooting everywhere all the time during the movie. Maybe it is just that channel?
