Got my first HDTV Satellite receiver this weekend, a bit disappointed. It's the Panasonic HDS20. Picture on HD channels is AWESOME, but when it upconverts SD pictures, the quality is actually worse than a normal non-HD satellite receiver.

Anyone with the Dish Network 6000 have an opinion on how the picture quality is? How is the HD quality, and how is the quality of the SD pictures upconverted?

I have a Dish 6000 with a 34" Toshiba widescreen.

HD is very good on the 6000.

Upconverted SD is a 480 line picture upconverted to 1080I, which looks like a 480 line picture. We typically watch SD using the Toshiba line doubler. It looks better than an upconverted 1080I picture.
