I have just been exposed to the Integra line. The salesman (B&M) stated that he felt integra/Yamaha were better receivers than Pioneer. He stated that the Integra 5.6 (about $125.00 more) would be a better deal. I was ready to purchase a Pioneer 1015.

Is his argument legitimate. Are there features on the Integra that warrant this increase in price. Is the amplifier that much better? This forum does seem to think highly of the Pioneer 1015. I would like some feedback on this.

P.S. Budget is $300>

The integra is a much better receiver than the pioneer. The pioneer is made for more mainstream market, whereas the integra is made for specialty retailers/installers. Generally, you are paying for sound quality not convenience features like in the pioneer. Your choice which you would rather have.
