Hi all. Here is a question from a newbie that is trying to setup a decent home theater system.

Bought the Pioneer 1018 last week and have been playing with it. Jumping right to the question, i have my DVD player hooked to the component input as well as my Xbox 360 (just temporarily until i get the HDMI cable).

I have the receiver connected to my TV using the HDMI output from receiver and i am able to see the video for each of the inputs. However, no audio. I have a feeling that it is a faulty receiver. However, is there anything that limits the receiver from converting an analog input to a digital output for AUDIO? If the receiver is able to convert component video to HDMI, why not audio?

Is there something i am missing here or it is a faulty receiver?

Kindly help.

Thanks
