Pioneer PRO 151FD - 60" Elite KURO vs. Panasonic Viera TCP50VT25 50" 3D 1080p 600Hz Which one and why?:what: the panny is for $1,700 brand new with a pair of glasses and the pioneer is 2,000 used. i really like the 3d. i don't care if anyone thinks its a gimmick. i think it can be at times, but it can be used correctly and draw you into a film. so when it becomes more available and directors that don't just use it as a gimmick but to immerse the audience; magic starts to happen.. that's what entertainment is all about right, immersing the audience and showing them how you want it to be seen, depth and all? plus when auto stereoscopic starts dropping in price 3d will be the future. on the flip side of all this 3d talk i have herd that both t.v's produce outstanding 2d images and blacks yada yada... i should probably say that im going to be using the t.v. for all types of media. Blue Ray, Video Games, possibly hooking up a computer to it, DVR. so please people. could you be so kind and give me your input and why? maybe some specs, key reasons to buy. if its a good deal? thank you so much.

Then it doesn't matter. The Pioneer doesn't do 3D.

The 151 has alot better PQ, and the panny has well documented problems, not the least of which is rising black levels. For anyone who is serious about pq, build quality, looks, etc. the 151 is the easy choice. But if you want 3d, get the panny.

If you like 3D, which almost your entire post is about, why would you even consider the pioneer?

If you just want PQ performance the the kuro is your best bet. but.....

You don't seem to really care about that(?).

I can't tell if he's able to get the Pioneer used through a store of If he found something on CL. Anyway, paying a lot of money for an expensive used item that most likely has no documentation, won't know if it's had to be serviced, no warranty, no return policy, I personally would just be a bit nervous...especially if I would only have a few minutes to check it out in some random persons house with them knowing I have $2K in my pocket.

$2K is cheap for 60" 9G Kuro, and no one but you said he could only look at it for a few minutes and had to walk in with $2K in his pocket. Further, you are making more assumptions about no documentation and no warranty. For example, if I was going to sell my Kuro, it would come with more than 2 years left on the warranty, all documentation and packaging, and calibration done by D-Nice.

You don't seem to really care about that(?).

'Blacks yada yada' that indicates the OP does not care.

If it was me, I would get the Kuro. I'm jealous of the people who have the opportunity to buy one, then don't. 2,000 used is a bargain. Now if I can go back in a time a machine (2008 and 2009) I would have a Kuro

Cheap for a 60" kuro, but doesn't do 3-D so all those considerations are pretty much moot anyway.

If I could get a 60' Kuro, 3D would be pretty much moot to me.

Nothing will ever be as good as a Pioneer.

Panasonic could but it doesn't seem like they care....

Jesus i feel like im being assessed by a psychologist. i don't want to geek out and type every little reason why the KURO is BA. i also was trying to explain yes i like 3d but no i dont think its everything.

Well thanks for replying people. i have made my decision. im going with the panny because the guy finally got back to me through email and told me the tv is in a bidding war and he wants 3,000. that is ****ing ridiculous for any used t.v. i dont care how good the picture is or how black the black is. greedy bastard. still might try and get a kuro as well though. found this on CL in the city right by me. Is this a good deal? Pioneer 50" Elite Kuro PRO-111FD - $600??
