Now that these two models have been out for a few months, can anyone tell me what the differences are between these two models? (obviously, other than cosmetics and $2000). If you compared both and bought one of them, what was the deciding factor. Also, if you choose another brand (Fujitsy, Panasonic, NEC, etc.) over one of these sets, what was the deciding factor. - Pete -

The Elite has a filter that helps darken the blacks a bit. I think the effect is subtle, but it's there.


The Elite has the ISF Calibration menu stuff, but there are ways to achieve similar (same?) results by digging in the 4340.


Do a search here on those terms or on 5040 and 1110 to get an idea of some more differences. This matter has been discussed more than once.
