i received a PDF of the 503 technical manual today. it is 17MB, so i can't email it to you, sorry. if you have the means to host a 17MB download on an FTP server, let me know via PM or email and i can burn and ship you a disc if you'll put it up there for everyone. Pioneer says it'll be up on their site "soon".
176 pages.
a few interesting tidbits.
* there's like 20 pages of mounting instructions for any type of mounting you can imagine, such as "embedding" the unit in a wall, and suspending it by wires. amusing.
* the PDA-5002 section says that the card is not intended to ever be removed once installed. i find this hard to believe, but that's what it says. "...after the card has once been installed on the plasma display, do not attempt to remove it since damage may result."
* the DVI input will support 1280x768 @ 60Hz. it is noted as an "optimal" setting for the unit. when you feed it this, you will only have the "DOT BY DOT" screen size option. no wide, full, or 4:3.
* i previously asked about color temps. they don't say specifically what MIDDLE is supposed to represent. it's "+0" on the chart. MID LOW is -2000 and LOW is -3000. MID HIGH is +1000 and HIGH is +2000. if MIDDLE is 6500, then LOW is 3500 - i've never seen a television with a 3500 color temp - isn't that insanely low? maybe MIDDLE isn't 6500. hmmm......
* there are images that explain the three "power control" settings.
* looks like you can do ALL sorts of damage in the "Integrator Menu Mode"
* you can change the color of the 4:3 side bars to any RGB color you like.
* there is an orbiter mode.
* there's a temperature gauge that tells you how hot the unit is or isn't. cute.
* full rs232 control information.
doody.
