If I took a -R disc in Video Mode recorded from my DVR-7000 Pioneer unit, and use the 520 to burn it to the HardDrive in realtime to make a new menu with thumbnails, then burn back to dvd-r on the 520, will I lose quality? Is there a re-encode in the process?

Yes, you will lose quality because there is a re-encode in the process, when you record to HDD in realtime.


You can then burn to DVD-R in High Speed (with no re-encode and no loss of quality).
