I am considering new components in the near future. For my receiver, it will be the new Yamaha RX-V663 for sure. Being that it already uses the Burr-Brown PCM1796 DACs for true DSD processing, among all the HDMI 1.2A players out there, I don't think I need to even think about considering the $500 Pioneer DV-58AV anymore because I'd basicly be duplicating the analog section. The Harman Kardon DVD 49 won't send a pure 480i signal, via HDMI, which rules out that one. So that leaves me with the Pioneer Elite DV-49AV (soon to replace the DV-48AV), or the Oppo Digital DV-980H. Which one would have a higher-quality disc mechanism? Edit: A few minutes ago, I find out that the RX-V663 converts DSD to PCM, which rules out the plans I mentioned in this topic. I don't want to spend more than $500 on my next upgrade, which leads me back to the Pioneer DV-58AV.
