All I have to say is DOH!

I'd consider the source (CNet). I doubt Pio is eliminating one of its most sought-after features. Besides, for the most part, 72hz eliminates judder (not the other way around), even when fed a 60i signal, so long as the 2:3 flags are detected.

The CNet crew are idiots. The smoother pans are due to Pioneer's new processor that will be incorporated in the 8th gen plasmas. Pioneer isn't losing 72Hz. If anything they are going to 120Hz.

The FHD-1 refreshes at 50Hz/60Hz/72Hz depending on the source material and Pure Cinema setting.
