I was comparing Elite 80,81 and 82. I am using DirecTv HR10-250 and Westinghouse LCD TV with 1080P so I don't need the Video scaler that is in the Elite 82. When looking at the 80 and 81 I noticed the term "video conversion". The 81 has HDMI "video conversion" while the 80 only this "conversion" though component and s-video,my question is 2 fold. One ,what is "video conversion"? Second, if I just want to run my DirecTv receiver and my Samsung 1080P7 DVD player though the HDMI on the receiver to the HDMI on my TV, will the Elite 80 do the same job as the 81?

Thanks

Re. your first question, the 81's video conversion (or transcoding) includes converting composite and s-video to component video (all analog) AND digitizing composite, s-video and component video signals so they can be transmitted over HDMI cable. The 80 only includes converting composite and s-video to component video (all analog).
